This is it!

img_4847img_0089 It was a typical Tuesday at a satellite office clinic and I was quite content.   I had been married, started a young family and built a career as a part time Foot Doctor.  After Residency I joined a group practice separate from my husband’s.  We were happy to be employed Podiatrists and loved our bosses and on the other hand (or should I say foot?), patients and family continued to reverberate “why don’t you two go into practice together?”  We heard them but took awhile to listen.  We were filled with gratitude toward the practices that helped us grow into the Physicians and Parents we are today.

I tried convincing myself it was easier not to own a practice.  No employees to manage, less risk financially, vacation schedules and not to mention our employers needed us.  Then one day a patient saw me putting my white coat away in the closet.  He stated so “this is it!”  I turned around and said “excuse me?”  He implied that “I had made it” after all the years of hardwork completing 4 years Undergrad (OSU), 4 years of Podiatric Medical School (OCPM) and 3 years Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (OSU) and working at this wonderful Group Practice since 2010.

Did I make it? I wondered.   I shook my head and now it was clear, the answer was “no.”   Next the “ah-ha” moment and I just couldn’t stop…Hilliard Family PODIATRY was born July 20, 2015.  This is it!

We officially opened to treat patients without discrimination of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and race on June 2, 2016.

Are you done Doctoring your feet?
